THIAKLOR Tablet, is a medication for heart diseases. In the managament of High blood pressure ( hypertension ), and edema.

How it Work 

Chlorothalidone is a type of thiazide like diuretic that works by decreasing the reabsorption of water by the kidneys. so that blood volume decreases and urine volume increases. as a result it lower the high blood pressure. Hence swelling. It is used either alone or in combination with other drugs.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects include electrolyte disturbances ( abnormal electrolyte level in blood ), and dehydration. Also Orthostatic Hypotension ( blood pressure decrease on standing up) .
