Uses of  AMLOSAFE LS 5 mg Tablet

AMLOSAFE LS, ( Lisinopril )  is a medication for heart diseases. In the management of High blood pressure ( hypertension ), congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, and diabetic nephropathy.

Amlodipine, for the management of hypertension and coronary artery disease in people with either stable angina (where chest pain occurs mostly after physical or emotional stress) or vasospastic angina (where it occurs in cycles).

How it Work 

Lisinopril, is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor.

Normally, angiotensin I is converted to angiotensin II by an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Angiotensin II constricts blood vessels, increasing blood pressure. By inhibiting the ACE, Hence it decreases levels of angiotensin II leading to less vasoconstriction and decreased blood pressure. thereby it lowers the blood pressure. Hence As a result it relaxes the heart and work more efficiently. Moreover use either by mouth or injection into a vein.

Amlodipine, is an angio-selective calcium channel blocker. Amlodipine inhibits calcium ion influx across cell membranes, with a greater effect on vascular smooth muscle cells. This causes vasodilation and a reduction peripheral vascular resistance, thus lowering blood pressure.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects of Lisinopril include increase in serum creatinine level, and cough. Also headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea and vomiting.

Common side effects of Amlodipine include swelling, feeling tired, abdominal pain, and nausea.
